WHAT IS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
High Blood Pressure also known as hypertension is the elevation of normal blood pressure levels. Blood Pressure (BP) can fluctuate depending on stress levels and physical activities.
Blood Pressure is measured by the systolic and diastolic readings. The systolic blood pressure measures the pressure within the blood vessels while the heart beats. The diastolic blood pressure measures the peak pressure when the heart rests in between heart beats.
A normal blood pressure is 120/80, but this can vary depending on the fitness and lifestyle situations of the individual. For example athletes have low blood pressure because they exercise there heart and don’t eat fatty foods. Vegetarians and Vegans also have considerably low blood pressure due to their lack of fatty saturated animal meats and products. Low blood pressure is perfectly safe unless symptoms of dizziness and blackouts are experienced.
The only way you know if you have High Blood Pressure (HBP) is to get it tested by a health care professional. It is important when measuring blood pressure to take a few readings to ensure its accuracy. If the BP levels on the systolic or diastolic reading are within 10 pts (e.g. 130/90 or 110/80) either up or down this is still considered safe and normal.
There are many health risks associated with HBP including increased stroke, blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, heart attack or organ damage.
CAUSE OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Lifestyle and diet are the main contributing factor to having HBP.
HBP is Caused By:
- High Sugar Intake
- High Caffeine Intake
- High Meat Consumption
- Lack of Physical Exercise
- Excessive Alcohol Consumption

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Symptoms Of HBP May Include:
- Headaches
- Breathlessness
- Blurred Vision
- Bleeding Nose
- Swollen Ankles
- Irregular Heart Beats
TREATMENTS FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
- Eliminate causes of HBP
- Exercise for at least 30 minutes 3 days per week
- Breathe Pure Fresh Air as negative ions lower HBP
- Drink 8-10glasses of water per day as it thins the blood
- As much as possible remain in a stress free environment
- Rest as the hormone Melatonin is released and lowers HBP
- Eat a well balanced diet including nuts, fruits, grains and vegetables
- Expose Yourself to Sunlight (20mins per day before 10am and after 3pm)
- Have regular cardio and weight training exercise to strengthen the heart muscle
- Use Natural Herbs to reduce HBP (ensure they don’t contraindicate other medications)
NATURAL HERBS & FOODS TO TREAT HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
- Wheatgrass
- Amino Acids
- Coenzyme Q10
- All Mushrooms
- Cayenne Pepper
- Banana’s, Watermelon
- Olive Oil, Flaxseed Oil

MEDICATIONS

COMPLICATIONS
If you notice the signs and symptoms of HBP, see a GP immediately to be tested and treated.
